The road to the cross presents Jesus at his most vulnerable time, only as an infant
is Jesus presented as equally vulnerable in his humanity. Jesus in his walk toward
his own death is like every other human confronting death. He is “out of control”,
seeing what is coming and allowing himself to “ride it through” as is comes. He
gives himself over to his trust and love for God and others along the way.
Jesus walks with dignity, faith, and compassion for those he meets along the way,
showing a character of love, above and beyond what most humans can show at
similar places in our lives.
We come to the stations to draw life lessons for ourselves as we walk the “Way of
the Cross” in our own lives. How do we follow Jesus’ leadership during times of
fear, loss and pain as we confront our most vulnerable selves? Can we, like Jesus,
experience these times consumed with love and driven forward by the knowledge
that even in the worst of times we, too, are called to serve others out of love? Can
we depend only on the love of God when times are hard?
Join with us on Fridays during Lent, from 5 - 6:30 PM, as we ‘walk’ the stations of
the cross in our church, eat a meal of delicious soup and bread and reflect on how
Jesus’ Walk can guide us on our own walk-through difficult times.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION
BIBLE STUDY
Weekly Bible study id held on Thursdays at 3:00pm in the parish hall. We will continue of the discussion of the Book of Acts.
Participants are asked to bring along their bible to each session.
NO BIBLE STUDY DURING LENT.

Besides our Bible Study on Thursdays, we have opportunities during the week to deepen your prayer life; and with our Food Pantry and our hot meal ministry, there are opportunities to seek and to serve Christ in our neighbor.

Why Study the Bible?
Each one of us, with God’s help, makes a decision about how we use Christian tradition and Scripture in our lives. A personal relationship with God allows us to realize and celebrate our lives to the fullest. The gift of reason, as a complement to Scripture and religious traditions, leads us to seek answers to our own questions and to grow spiritually. Being active in a community of faith strengthens us to carry our faith into the world. Weaving Scripture, tradition and reason together, we strengthen our faith and grow as children of God. We look forward to you joining us for Bible Study.
